Tablets are something that is certainly not new at this time. The first tablet was introduced in the world in the year 2000, April by Bill Gates. Perhaps in our current times, the most popular of them all is the iPad Apple. The new tablets are greatly technologically advanced and allow you to perform a handful of tasks with ease. Simply speaking – making your daily life a bit more convenient.
A couple of months ago my friend asked me – “why do you even need a tablet?” He was under the assumption that you will buy it, play around with it and just leave it at your couch and never pick it up again, sort of an entertainment device that you won’t really need. I know some students that couldn’t imagine their life without an iPad or Tablet, they take their notes on their Tablets, so I gave him a couple of other reasons as well and when I came back home I thought of some more reasons and I figured…I should write a blog post about this. He’s probably isn’t the only one thinking like this.
I just want to show our readers how a Tablet/iPad can improve your life because that’s what technology is all about. It’s not just an expensive entertainment device, but it also can make your day more productive.
1. Surfing the web
A fairly obvious use of a tablet is its capability of internet searches. Surfing the web is something that practically everyone does frequently on a daily basis. The fact that an iPad is so portable and versatile will allow you to fulfill your daily surfing needs with ease and comfort. If you’re watching a movie and want to know the name of the cast number, an iPad will allow you to find this instantly without having to get up and boot up your laptop. News, stocks, sports, etc.
2. Great for watching tv shows and movies
This is a big reason why people love tablets. Watching Netflix on your phone is possible, yet it causes strain on the eyes and is not very comfortable due to the small screen size. Yes, you could just watch your favorite shows on television, but what if you want to watch it in a different room? The fact that the iPad is portable will allow you to move around with it and comfortably enjoy some entertainment. Tablets are not only great for movies and tv-shows but also other forms of media such as youtube videos. This is something that not all televisions can do. You can also use your tablet for media when you are out and about. Overall, a tablet is awesome for consuming media as the portability allows you to enjoy it from anywhere, even your bed. Not to mention that new tablets also have excellent graphics which make the experience even better.

3. Engaging to play video games
Whether you’re a hardcore gamer or just someone who enjoys games from time to time, a tablet will have you covered. Tablets will allow you to have access to a load of free and fun games on the app store. From games like Crossword searches, Candy Crush all the way to Call of Duty & Fortnite. While an iPad or tablet may not be as good at video games as an actual game console or PC, but it’s still pretty damn great. Plus you can play many games that you just can’t play anywhere else. Games on the iPad are also mostly free, if they do cost money then it will be a small amount. Compared to Xbox’s and Playstations which charge quite a bit for a new game. The graphics on new tablets again makes the user experience great when playing video games. This is a much better value as a good PC’s cost much more than a tablet. Overall, video games on a tablet are quite fun and can definitely cure your boredom. The fact that you can also play them from anywhere is definitely a bonus.

4. Excellent for note-taking
If you currently a student then this feature will really appeal to you. Note-taking can also be useful if you’re not a student but these features are tremendously helpful if you are. Recently the release of the iPad Pro has revolutionized not-taking as a whole. The iPad Pro allows you to go fully paperless. As a student, this means no more messy binders where you unable to find anything. With apps like good notes and notability, you will be able to actually enjoy making notes. These apps offer a vast amount of cool features and color options to make your notes look amazing. Taking notes on an iPad is not only an enjoyable experience, but it is also extremely convenient. This will allow you to take notes during class lectures with ease. A stand-out feature for the iPad Pro is the apple pencil. The apple pencil is the main thing that makes taking notes on an iPad so great.
Go paperless. I don’t use paper and pen anymore, truly. I take my notes on iPad – in personal life and in work, it’s a whole lot better. I equipped my personal iPad with Paperlike screen protector and it feels like I’m writing on a piece of paper.
5. Multitask
Another one of the reasons to get a tablet or iPad is a compelling feature that new tablets enable. Multitasking is something we humans are constantly trying to do. Why do one thing and waste time, when you can do multiple things all at once? So far, most technological devices have made it extremely difficult to multitask. This has changed with the release of many new tablets. The large screen real estate has allowed developers to implement multitasking functionality. The new iPad Pro allows you to have multiple applications open at once, side by side. This is extremely useful as it allows you to avoid switching back and forth between applications. A good example of this is if you were completing a research assignment. With this feature, you would be able to have Microsoft word open as well as Safari, Or Google Chrome, or any other web browser. Or your email and safari. This would allow you to have the information right next to you and would save a lot of frustration, being able to avoid constantly switching back and forth.
6. Creativity & Drawing
If you are someone who is creative and artistic then this will appeal to you. New tablets such as the iPad Pro make for an excellent drawing experience. Using the apple pencil and new apps will allow your creativity to run free. Apps like the procreate app allow you to draw beautiful drawings by using the apple pencil. You can now even animate these drawings and use them in personal projects. If you draw regularly then buying a tablet is a great option. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of drawing tablets besides iPad Pro and some of them are a lot more professional. So If you’re a professional artist…drawing a tablet might be useful.
Drawing is not the only creative thing that you can accomplish with a tablet. Tablets these days allow users to unleash our creativity and even do some things that we just can’t do on paper. With a tablet, you will be able to create a wide range of things which include; digital paintings, creative writing, animations and even making music.

7. Great for reading books
If your an avid reader then this feature will excite you. First of all, books are very important to read. Did you know that the average CEO reads 60 books a year? Books engage your mind and provide you with knowledge. Purchasing regular books from a book store can not only be inconvenient at times, but it can also add up. iPad’s and tablets these days basically integrate a kindle e-reader into them. Instead of purchasing a kindle e-reader, you can have the same function as well as a multitude of other features with a tablet. The large screen of an iPad/tablet makes for a much better reading experience compared to a kindle or especially your cellphone. Overall the simplicity of reading books on a tablet is very good and will make you eager to read more books!
Now I personally use this feature on my iPad and I love it. I usually read before bedtime and I always had to get up and turn off the lights. I love that you don’t need a night light in order to read. iPad provides you with light. You read you get sleepy, you click the sleep button and you go to sleep.
8. Checking emails
Sending emails is another common everyday task that people perform. Whether you’re sending emails to friends, colleagues or just checking them for leisure purposes, an iPad or tablet will get the job done. Sure you could check on your phone, but an iPad will make it easier due to the larger screen. You can even send emails while using the multitasking feature! Overall, sending emails is something that most people do and a tablet will allow you to do that whilst lounging on the couch or even in bed.
9. Photo and video editing
If you’re into content creation then this will draw your interest. New models of tablets now allow you to do some pretty cool things with photos and videos. There are now many great apps on the app store in which you can create stellar edits. The most popular still – Lightroom. Using an iPad for editing photos and videos is quite simple and you can do a really good job, especially using the apple pencil. It’s not only for amateurs. A lot of professional photographers use a tablet to edit pictures. Apps like procreate will also allow you to add doodles and animations to photos and videos. This is something I have seen many people implement into youtube videos if you’re interested in making those. Using an iPad/Tablet for editing is also much more beginner-friendly, this is perfect if you are just getting started with content creation.
10. Great for presentations
Using a tablet for presentations is something you may or may not have considered before. More and more people are using these devices to complete presentations these days. Whether it’s for a school project or a pitch at work. The power of a tablet and screen will allow you to showcase engaging presentations. Tablets are also great for presenting stuff due to the functionality and convenience factor. Tablets are far more convenient to present something as someone would much rather use than pull out a large laptop and spend time loading it up. Tablets are great for any sort of presentation or display that you may wish to do.
Use your tablet and practice the art of persuasion.
11. Perfect for trips
This is due to the convenience, portability, and functionality of these devices. Tablets are a much better option than a phone or laptop. Phones are just too small to really enjoy performing long tasks on them. Laptops are usually too large and bulky. Tablets are a great option to pass your time on a plane. You can use them to play games, surf the web, or even binge-watch your favorite Netflix tv-show. The fact that they will fit easily into a backpack, carry-on, or briefcase is the reason why so many people love them for traveling. You will probably also feel a lot more comfortable taking a tablet with you on your trip, compared to your extremely expensive laptop. While in a new country you can also use your tablet as a map, dictionary or even as a camera if you wish. Overall, tablets are the perfect choice to take with you on any vacation.
12. Music
Music is something that everyone enjoys listening to. Whatever genre you like, a tablet will have you covered. Tablets have a multitude of different apps you can use to stream your favorite songs. Tablets have pretty good speakers as well which will allow you to listen with good volume. Tablets also have apps such as Garageband which allow you to create your own music and tracks. If you are interested in listening to everyday music or even creating your own then a tablet will not disappoint. Bottom line – great for listening and creating music.
We would suggest getting some headphones for the full experience.
13. Scan documents
This last reason is something you may not have thought about before and is actually quite useful. iPads and tablets can now be used to scan documents and upload them to your computer. Previous models of the tablet could sometimes be used to scan documents, however, they did not turn out well. This was due to poor camera quality. New models of tablets now have excellent camera quality. This will result in a crisp scan of documents. Having the feature to scan documents can be very useful for many purposes. This could be used to send an important document to a colleague or family member, digitize handwritten notes and much more. This will be especially useful if you do not have an actual scanner. This would also be a lot less work than it would be to use an actual scanner. Therefore, if you do not have a scanner and would like to use this feature, a tablet will do you well.
14. Video Calls
In these strange times, we’re all using Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts, and other video call services a lot more. With iPad, you can take these calls and multi-task while doing so. Split the screen in half, take notes, and see your team members on the other side of the screen.
You can do it on the go, even if you don’t have the iPad LTE model, you can create a hotspot from your smartphone and connect your iPad to itl
My Laptop and Phone can do that – Why should I buy an iPad?
Sure, most of these tasks you can do from your smartphone and laptop, it’s not about that. You can easily check your email from your phone, right? The exact same thing you can do from your laptop. Sure, you can even take notes on your laptop as well, why do you need a Stylus pen, when you have a keyboard? It’s a matter of preference. I’m fully aware I could take notes on my laptop, but there’s a different kind of satisfaction when you’re taking notes with a pen. It helps you memorize things, better. At least for me.
I myself, personally have a Macbook, iPhone, and iPad Pro. I’ve bought myself into Apple’s ecosystem, no way out anymore. I use my Macbook purely for work – emails, writing, typing, editing, planing the heavy lifting, I often use my iPad to check up on things when I’m at home sitting at my couch, while I’m reading Reddit or watching some show on Netflix. It’s definitely something I could live without, but I like it and I don’t regret buying an iPad. I also use it for video calls and to watch something before bedtime or read something.
What I mean by all of this – I’m a person who owns an iPad Pro and I realize how expensive it is together with a magic keyboard and apple pencil and of course I could live without it, due to the fact that I have a laptop. But it makes my life a bit more convenient and even more, fun, to know I have this device I can take anywhere with me and take-notes in my handwriting. Which you won’t be able to do on your laptop, as well as reading e-books, just doesn’t have the same taste to it.
