Introduction

Recently, Samsung announced a new release of two new Galaxy tablets. Those being, Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+. Currently, they are still no available but both can be pre-ordered through Samsung official website and other retailers. Since these are new announcements, here is a full and detailed comparison of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7+, which will help you make a more informed decision if either tablet is right for you.

Design

Regarding the design, both tablets look identical. The design is modern and sleek. It has a full aluminum build with beautiful metal sides that provides a high-end feel. The corners are rounded. Additionally, it comes in 3 different colors. That is mystic bronze, mystic black, and mystic silver. Therefore, you have the option to choose which tone will suit your style the most.

That said, the dimensions and weight will vary. Galaxy S7 is an 11- inch tablet. Therefore, the dimensions are 9.99 x 6.5 inches. It is only 6.3 mm thick and will weigh between 498 to 502 grams, depending on if you choose a 5G version. This makes this tablet perfect for most tasks since it is big enough for watching movies while still being compact to carry with you everywhere since will fit in most bags and backpacks.

Galaxy Tab S7+ is a 12.4-inch tablet. The dimensions are 11.22 x 7.28 inches and it is 5.7 mm thick. It weighs only 571 grams irrespective if you decide to get the wi-fi version or the 5G version. It is lightweight considering the size of this tablet.

When comparing both tablets, there is only one big difference, which is the size of the tablet. Galaxy S7 is an 11-inch tablet while Galaxy S7 Plus is a 12.4-inch tablet. This respectively changes the weight of the tablet. However, both are respectively lightweight and can be considered as travel-friendly. Therefore, it is up to you if you are looking for a larger or smaller sized tablet for your everyday use.

Display

Regarding the display, there is a massive difference between these two models. Galaxy S7 has the classic LTPS TFT capacitive touchscreen. This means that backlight is being used to produce the image. However, Galaxy Tab S7+ has the new a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. This type of display is thinner than the classic LCD display because the capacitive touchscreen is blended right inside the display. This also means that the responsiveness of the touchscreen improves. This also explains why Galaxy S7+ is thinner than the smaller version Galaxy S7.

Additionally, AMOLED offers a wide range of colors with an incredible degree of color clarity and greater resolution. This is achieved through direct pixel-to-pixel control. Therefore, a better quality picture on display will be produced and an exceptional viewing experience can be achieved.

In conclusion, both options are good but which tablet would be suitable for you will depend on how you plan to use your tablet. Considering the provided information, it can be stated that Galaxy Tab S7+ will be a better match for you if you plan to use your tablet for illustration creation, drawing, and video games. However, if you need a tablet simply for everyday use, such as internet surfing, video calling, and watching tv, Galaxy S7 will satisfy your needs the same way Galaxy S7+ would.

Performance

Regarding the performance, it is identical and there are no differences between both of these models. These tablets use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+ chipset. Currently, it is one of the best mobile and tablet chipsets available on the market.  It has an Octa-core (Kryo 585) CPU and Adreno 650 GPU. This is a brilliant and fast-acting combination. For instance, Snapdragon 865+ improves the Kryo 585 CPU performance by 10% higher than the standard 865 version. Furthermore, the Adreno 650 GPU gains a 10% faster graphics rendering capability.

They come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This is more than enough to enable you to play the newest games and apps without issues. However, you can also choose more memory if you feel the need for it. For this reason, it is possible to get this tablet with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Additionally, it has a dedicated MicroSD slot, enabling you to expand memory up to 1TB.

Therefore, it can be concluded that you can expect a high-end performance for gaming and AI applications irrespective of which tablet you choose.

Battery

Galaxy S7+ has a non-removable Li-Po 10090 mAh battery. On average, you will be able to get up to 14 hours of video playback time before needing to charge the tablet again. Galaxy Tab S7, however, comes with a non-removable Li-Po 8000 mAh battery. Unfortunately, Samsung has not specified a battery life figure for Galaxy S7. That said, chances are that the playback time should be similar to Galaxy S7 Plus. The only reason battery size is different is due to the tablet size difference.

Furthermore, both tablets come with 45W fast-charging technology. With this technology, the device can be charged from 0% to 50% in just 20 minutes. However, to take advantage of this, a specific charger will be required and, unfortunately, it does not come with the tablet.

Camera

The specifications are identical for both tablets. The rear camera has a dual-camera system. It consists of a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP ultra-wide camera. Additionally, it has an HDR feature, panorama feature, and 4k resolution videos that can be recorded.

The front camera consists of a single 8MP camera. It has been positioned to the right-hand side edge. This is brilliant if you plan to use your tablet for video or conference call, or prefer taking photos in a landscape mode.

In conclusion, both tablets have decent specs for the camera, and good-quality pictures can be achieved.

Sound

Both tablets come with 4 stereo speakers. A couple of speakers are positioned on the top and a couple on the bottom. The loudspeakers are tuned by AKG technology. This ensures that a truly pure sound, which is free from any sound distortion, can be provided. Therefore, precisely tuned sound for gaming, for videos and for listening to music is achieved.

Unfortunately, neither Galaxy S7 nor S7+ comes with 3.5mm jack. This means that wired earphones cannot be used. Therefore, if you plan to use your tablet while commuting and do not have a Bluetooth compatible headset, it will require you to purchase a new pair of earbuds. Thankfully, there are plenty available on the market.

Features

The most noticeable feature is the S Pen stylus which is similar to one that came with Galaxy Tab S6. The stylus can be magnetically attached to the back of the tablet. It is identical to both Galaxy S7 and S7 Plus. It has a specifically designed place at the back of the tablet. Therefore, you will not have to worry about losing the stylus. Additionally, once the stylus is attached, it will automatically start charging.

Furthermore, the S Pen stylus has been improved. The latency of the stylus has been cut down to just 9ms, which is great news. This will provide a more life-like experience while writing or drawing with the stylus.

Galaxy Tab S7+ has an in-display fingerprint sensor. Meaning, it will react efficiently and the tablet will unlock with ease.  However, Galaxy Tab S7 does not have an in-display fingerprint sensor. Instead, the sensor is positioned on a side button. In practice, this should not cause problems but it may take some getting used to since most devices nowadays have an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Lastly, both tablets have ANT+. This is a wireless protocol used for monitoring sensor data. For example, it should enable you to monitor your heart rate and sports and fitness activities. Additionally, there multiple other features, such as Samsung DeX, compass, accelerometer, and gyro.

Conclusion

Considering the above information, it can be concluded that both tablets are almost identical. Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 Plus have a sleek all-aluminum build while still being powerful enough for all everyday tasks and running games and apps. Both have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+ chipset which improves CPU and GPU performance by 10%. This is brilliant news if you are looking for a fast-reacting tablet.

That said, there are two big differences that may make it or break it for you. Galaxy S7+ is a 12.4-inch tablet and has a Super AMOLED screen, while the smaller model is only 11-inches and has an LCD display. Therefore, if you are looking for a tablet for drawing, creative projects or to use with Adobe Photoshop, Galaxy Tab S7+ will suit your needs better.

This is because there will be more drawing space and the AMOLED screen is more response-reactive since the capacitive touchscreen is blended right inside the display. However, if that is not the case, Galaxy S7 may be more suitable for a much lower price, resulting in you having a beautiful yet powerful tablet.
